Description

Actovegin 80 mg/ml, 2 ml, 25 ampoules

Actovegin, a drug containing the active component hemoderivate, is used to improve trophism and activate metabolic and regenerative processes in the body’s tissues.

It does this by increasing tissue resistance to hypoxia, stimulating the process of utilization and oxygen uptake, and activating energy metabolism and glucose consumption.
This all works together to increase the energy resource of the cells.

When parenteral administration of the drug occurs, the effect comes in about half an hour or a little earlier. On average, the maximum effect is achieved three hours after ingestion.

As solution, Actovegin 80 mg/ml can be prescribed according to the description in a number of diseases.

In particular, with venous and arterial vascular disorders and associated consequences (angiopathy, trophic ulcers); diabetic polyneuropathy; in the complex treatment of metabolic and vascular disorders of the brain (dysautonomia, lack of blood flow in the brain, dementia, ischemic stroke).

According to the prescriptions, infusions with Actovegin are carried out intraarterially or intravenously.

How to use Actovegin:

Actovegin, a solution for injection, is typically stored in ampoules with a break point. To open the ampoule, point the upper part of the ampoule with the colored dot upwards and gently tap and shake it to allow the solution to run down from the top. Then, break off the upper part of the ampoule. Generally, Actovegin is administered intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously, or can be added to infusion solutions.

Depending on the severity of the patient’s condition and the clinical picture, 10-20 ml of the drug Actovegin, a solution for injections, is administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) daily. For further treatment, 5 ml of the drug is administered intravenously or slowly intravenously daily or several times a week.

When using Actovegin, a solution for injections, as an infusion, 10-50 ml of the drug should be added to 200-300 ml of a main solution, such as isotonic physiological solution or 5% glucose solution. Depending on the severity of the patient’s condition and clinical picture, 1-2 infusions may be administered daily or several times a week, with a total dose of 10-20 infusions. It is important to use infusion systems with 15 micron filters and a recommended infusion rate of 2 ml/min.

Intravenous solution should be administered slowly,
no more than 5 ml per day, as it is hypertonic.

The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the indications for use.
For instance, in diseases of the brain of vascular genesis, 10 ml intravenously each day for two weeks is recommended, followed by 5-10 ml intravenously several times a week for at least 4 weeks.

For arterial angiopathy, 20-50 ml of the drug should be added to the main solution and administered intravenously or intravenously daily or several times a week for about 4 weeks.
With venous trophic ulcers, 10 ml intravenously or 5 ml intravenously daily or several times a week, depending on the healing process, is suggested.

For diabetic polyneuropathy, an initial dose of 50 ml (2000 mg) per day should be given as an IV infusion for 3 weeks, followed by a transition to tablets – 2-3 tablets 3 times a day (up to 1800 mg) for at least 4-5 months.
